Kepner-Tregoe (KT) has an opening for a Malaysia-based Consultant.  This position will report to the Practice Leader, Southeast Asia. The position is open to Malaysians only.

Our Consultant will work to sell operational improvement engagements. To do so, you will need to combine prior industry and functional experience, acquired expertise around the application of our proprietary methodology and an understanding of client business issues, we will depend on you to develop new business and extend KT's brand in the marketplace.
We provide services to clients in the manufacturing, technology, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, financial and government segments. Functional areas addressed within these segments include: Operations, Maintenance, Quality Control, Human Resources and Technical Support. Typical engagements include Business Process Improvement, Shutdown/Outage Management, Step Change Improvement and service related Problem and Incident Management projects.
During an intensive 3-month on-boarding process, you will be exposed to the approach and application of core KT methodologies and sales training. We will provide on-going capability development to master the application and leadership of all KT technologies. Capability development will extend beyond to include additional sales capability, client management, leadership and management skill development.
The ultimate goal is to become a Client Relationship Manager – responsible for servicing existing clients, developing new business and extending KT's brand in the marketplace.

  • Developing new clients in targeted markets
  • Maintaining long-term relationships with clients
  • Negotiating terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Developing client proposals and administering client accounts
  • Facilitating pre-sales technical assistance and product /service education and after-sales support services
  • Meeting regular sales targets
  • Managing personal cost of sales
  • Updating sales systems that generate forecast and sales performance reports
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending conferences and other marketing events as required
  • Leveraging on social media for the purpose of positioning and creating sales opportunities
  • Providing client training, facilitation and coaching as needed
  • Making client presentations and demonstrating how KT's service offerings meet client needs


  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other relevant advanced qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience gained in a large manufacturing/operational setting (Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Support, etc.)
  • Management experience or other positions of responsibility where personal actions and behaviour have high impact
  • Successful history of selling to large accounts and comfortable with long-cycle sales
  • Evidence of upward mobility in a large organization, i.e., a career track that indicates progressive movement and development
  • Successful leadership of and involvement in addressing complex business-critical issues or management of operations projects such as production improvement initiatives or shutdown/outage events
  • Understanding of current management principles and practices, e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL or other related industry practices
  • Previous experience facilitating learning experiences in a business setting

Our Malaysia office is located in Selangor. Successful candidate is expected to travel extensively within APAC region for the purpose of assignment delivery and business development activities.
